PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS
I have expertise in conducting comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations in order to assess cognitive, academic, attentional, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns. Evaluations can help determine whether a child meets diagnostic criteria for an Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Specific Learning Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as other intellectual, developmental, anxiety, mood, or behavior disorders.
Evaluations typically begin with a parent meeting in order to gather a detailed history and assess current concerns. After the initial meeting, one or more testing sessions are scheduled. These sessions typically last 1-3 hours and involve administration of various psychological tests with your child. In addition, parents and teachers will be asked to complete questionnaires to further assess functioning. Once testing is complete, we will meet to discuss evaluation results, diagnostic impressions, and home and school-based reccommendations. A written report will also be provided at this time.
